A car past the age limit cannot be imported — however good it looks or however cheap you found it. So age is the first question, not price.
The most common mistake: buyers count from the model year. What counts is first registration, not the year in the listing. A car built late in the year but registered the following year buys you a full extra year.
Check the date in the registration document before you pay a deposit. If the car is near the limit, factor in transport and paperwork: what counts is the day of clearance, not the day of purchase.
Two weeks of transport delay can make a car unimportable. Do not buy a car at the age limit without a firm transport plan.
If the car you want is too old, there is another route: buy it inside Kosovo. Cars already registered here (RKS) are cleared, and the age limit does not touch them.
