The photos
- Wash the car. That alone does more than any other advice here.
- Shoot in the morning or evening, not in midday sun — hard shadows hide the shape.
- Quiet background: a wall, an empty car park, a street without other cars.
- Eight to ten photos: front three-quarter, rear three-quarter, both sides, interior from the driver’s door, odometer, rear seats, boot, engine bay.
- Photograph the faults too. A buyer who sees them in the listing is not disappointed at the car — and does not negotiate in your yard.
The text
Write as if to a neighbour: what the car is, how you kept it, what was done, why you are selling. Three honest lines beat twenty adjectives.
- Name the last service with date and mileage.
- Write what was recently replaced — tyres, brakes, belt.
- Say openly if there are scratches, rust or a small fault.
- Skip "like new" and "no faults at all". Nobody believes it and it costs you credibility.
Record a reel after publishing. Listings with video get noticeably more enquiries — and our checklist shows you what is still missing.
