A new car goes for its first inspection at twenty-four months; after that it repeats regularly. For imports it is part of registration.
- Brakes: effectiveness and balance between wheels.
- Lights: everything must work and be aimed correctly.
- Tyres: tread depth and damage.
- Steering and suspension: play, worn joints.
- Emissions and rust on structural parts.
- Windscreen: cracks in the field of view.
Twenty minutes before you go: switch on every light and walk around the car. A blown bulb is the most common reason for a second trip.
